Astoria Museums is an educational organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Clatsop County, Oregon and the surrounding areas. Astoria Museums offers four distinct museums, all located in historic buildings in Astoria, Oregon. The organization May date back to the 1890s. In the 1920s, a group of citizens calling themselves the Clatsop County Historical Society met monthly to discuss cultural topics here. They also set up a small exhibition at the local courthouse. In the late 1940s, when the historic Flavel House was on the verge of destruction, people rallied to save the building and use it as a museum.
