Blademasters Academy is a historical system of combat taught during the late medieval, renaissance, and early modern times (14th to 17th centuries). Despite the name, the German fencing genre is widely practiced throughout Europe as an extremely effective and common martial art system. It includes armed and unarmed combat techniques such as grappling and wrestling (ringen), fighting with various medieval weapons such as longsword, dagger, short sword with or without a buckler. Blademasters Academy's 10 week introductory German longsword course covers all fundamentals of fencing, major techniques and fighting tactics. It allows training to be put into context and gives an overview of the whole system so that it can be studied individually.
