Brewed Awakening was founded in a single-room café on West Street in downtown Corner Brook, Newfoundland, in 2007 with a coffee roaster and the mission to promote local while thinking globally. In addition, it served as a business to complement Cycle Solutions' bicycle shop and bring together two European cultures that frequently merge: bikes and coffee they buy their beans from a reputable supplier, and because they are a small-batch, artisanal roastery, they roast each bean to perfection. They are proud of the high-quality goods that are produced locally, just like the milling industry in their town. Each of their roasts, like the Milltown Espresso and Blow them Down Medium, is named after a provincial location. There are three locations of Brewed Awakening in Corner Brook and one in Burgeo. The Newfoundland Chocolate Company and numerous other Atlantic Canadian businesses also carry their coffee. They are committed to supporting the development of the Newfoundland economy and the local arts community.
