CR Smith Museum is named for the creative avionics pioneer and previous President of American Airlines. The Museum opened on June 3, 1993, as the finish of a more than long term gathering pledges and building exertion drove by American Airlines colleagues. The mark piece of CR Smith Museum Museum was and is a resigned 1940 Douglas DC 3, the airplane that was created dependent on their vision and that upset business air travel. The Flagship Knoxville was bought by The Gray Eagles, an American Airlines resigned pilots gathering, and reestablished by resigned and dynamic American Airlines colleagues prior to being introduced to the Museum.
