In 2011, a group of friends training at Eagling Eagles running club and runners first discussed the idea of bringing the half marathon into Eagling’s London borough. The hope is that the event will inspire people in and around the city to run and invite runners and Ealing Half Marathon’s supporters to the eagling race this weekend. After months of trying to plan the event and determine the right route, the first event was held on Sunday, May 30, 2012. The event was originally set up under a limited liability company made up of local’s keen to bring something special to west London. As the games grew, the idea quickly shifted to using activities to benefit the community. It's not about being a business entity, it's about the people and the benefits, and Ealing Half Marathon wants to make a difference in the running world.
