In 2009, Alex Lichtenauer and Nick King established the label in Keene, New Hampshire. In 2010, King left the label; Now, Lichtenauer, Ally Einbinder, and Jenna Pup co-run Get Better. Get Better Records has stated that its goal is to "reverse the constant underrepresentation of the queer arts community, with a specific focus on punk, hardcore, and alternative rock music". The label put out a compilation album in 2017 called "A Benefit Comp to Help Pay Medical Bills for Those Activists Fighting Against Fascism and Racism. The money from the album was given to people who were hurt in the car attack in Charlottesville and in Hurricane Harvey. Get Better Records label gave its Bandcamp profits to Black and Pink and a Philadelphia-based bail fund in May 2020.
