As a self-described functioning alcoholic, Allan Dell reasoned that since he spent enough time at a bar, he might as well make some money there. Master carpenter and graphic designer Allan convinced to help him build a bar were his drinking buddies and friends. Allan was aware that he wanted to open a bar about motorcycles and women. One afternoon, while sitting in the Village Idiot, the Boys tried to come up with a name: Hogs & Heifers. A heifer is a cow that has not yet been bred and is essentially a virgin cow. A sign advertising a heifer auction was posted on the wall above the bar. They became a reality. The bar ended up in a real meat market because the rent was cheap at the time.
