Matt has always had a place in Knightsbridge Wine through the restaurant business. During high school, Matt worked in a restaurant on weekends. In 2003, he decided to seek an opportunity at Charlie Trotter ’s, where he enjoyed the vitality of the entire restaurant and the creativity of the chefs who worked with him. It was there that Matt began to hone his wine skills. Worked with a respected sommelier at Fast Horse Restaurant, who taught him the basics of food and wine pairing. These skills will come in handy in 2005 when Knightsbridge Wine offered him an opportunity to develop a wine project at the Moto restaurant in the Chicago Meat Processing District. In the next 8½ years, Matt's Motor Wine Project also serves as General Manager. Under his guidance, the restaurant was recognized by Food & Wine magazine, and his wine project was named the "Chicago Best Wine Experience" (May 2006).
