Small Australian surf firm WILD THINGS GALLERY was founded in a run-down warehouse in a back alley of Sydney before moving to Bundjalung country/Byron Bay. What began as a Gato Herói showroom has expanded into a multifaceted company with a wide range of activities taking place under one roof. WILD THINGS GALLERY has between 40 and 60 different alternative surfboards at any given moment. They also carry a wide selection of shortboard and single fins, deckgrips, and other items as the Australian distributors of Captain Fin and Octopus. A place for showcasing the art, photography, design, and music of old and new friends is also provided by the Byron Bay office of Wild Things and Gato Heroi Oz in addition to offering space for rent and shared studios for designers and artists to work from. Artwork by Otis Carey, Ozzie Wright, Steve Cooney, and Paul McNeil is currently displayed on the walls of Wild Things.
